Red Lake Gold History

Projects

Red Lake District
   Red Lake District

The Red Lake gold mining camp, one of the most important gold producing regions of North America, was discovered in 1926 and the first production was achieved in 1930. Gold production has proceeded continually but significantly only since 1948, when the Campbell Red Lake and Dickenson (Red Lake) Mines were developed. Historically 24,248,231 ounces of gold at an average grade of 0.45 oz/ton gold have been produced. Combined, the Campbell Red Lake and Red Lake Mines contain or have produced 22 million ounces of gold at 0.66 oz/ton.

DiaMine Explorations Inc. has negotiated an option to earn a 100% interest in a contiguous group of 8 mineral claims totaling 94 claim units, or 3,760 acres, in Byshe Township in the south central part of the Red Lake Mining District. more

   James Bay Lowlands

De Beers' Victor mine has established the James Bay Lowlands as a region with the potential to host world class diamond deposits. The open-pit mine has already started production and was voted the mine of the year in 2009 by a mining magazine. The mine has an expected life of 12 years and a total project life of 17 years.

The DiaMine James Bay Property comprises over 20 units in two mineral claims totaling almost 400 hectares and was acquired in December 2007. The younger intrusive source of the magnetic anomaly, which as modeled as a near surface cylindrical body, puts the estimated size of the K anomaly at 28 ha and the S anomaly at 4.4 ha. Both of these anomalies may be diamondiferous kimberlites. more

   Pickle Lake Property

The Pickle Lake area is a historical gold camp that has seen approximately 2.5 million ounces of gold production from three separate mines over a 60 year period beginning in 1934.

DiaMine Explorations Inc. currently owns 7 mining claims totaling 78 claim units in the Pickle Lake region of Northwestern Ontario.

The claims area totals 1,248 hectares, or 3,084 acres, and is in close proximity to the red lake gold camp, which is one of the most important gold camps in North America. more

   Belanger Property

The Red Lake Gold Mine is composed of two operating complexes: the Red Lake Complex and the Campbell Complex. Red Lake Gold mine is Canada’s largest gold mine, and in 2009 produced 623,000 ounces at a cash cost of $288/oz.

DiaMine Explorations Inc. has the rights to 7 mining claims totaling 52 claim units in the Belanger region of the Red Lake District of Ontario.

The claims area totals 832 hectares, or 2,055 acres and is in close proximity to the red lake gold camp.

The property is tied onto a 2.2 million ton copper/zinc deposit and has occurrences of both gold (0.75 oz/t) and copper (5%), as well as significant geophysical targets. more
